Riders cafe.. Finally.

Yes, been thinking abt bringing wifey to this ulu ulu place called riders cafe since 1 year back.. Yesterday finally managed to make our way to this place.. Long dist drive from Pasir Ris to Eng Neo Ave.. But its totally worth it.. Once u are reaching the place, u dun see any tall commercial buildings anymore(anyway i always like to go ulu ulu place makan, enough of seeing buildings!). N imagine stopping at a cross junction for a rider and his horse to pass thru.. Cool!!

Reached the place and the cafe is just beside the stable.. Nice n relaxing to have a hearty breakfast while looking at casual riders and nice white horses passing by every now n then.. The distance is worth it... well as for the food, we tried the highly recommended pancakes which was pretty nice but the riders breakfast set which I had.. well.. could be improved... Ok.. .. have not been blogging for a short while..

Life is unfair.. and life is unpredictable...

Last week, we were still doing rackup with Fred and now he's lying in SGH, suffering from stroke and losing sensation on the left side of his body...

This is unfair... he is only 35... and he spend his birthday in ICU... and he is suppose to get married this Dec... Life is this unpredictable... Visiting him today wasn't easy for me... yes, we know now SGH only allows 8 nominated visitors to visit the patient.. but heck it, loophole is huge enough for us to break the rules.. Seeing him lying on the bed with half his body motionless wasn't easy... movement n speech is affected... This exact day a week ago and all of us were still chatting and 'bullshiting' in the office... nobody expected this... yes, we did notice that he was a bit abnormal last week.. yes, we did suspect that it could be symptom of stroke... but we did not expected it to come so fast...

Talking abt this in the office causes CTH to go red in the eyes... I feel the same way too when i rec the news on sat.. my colleague.. my friend.. a friend that i should have made more effort to get to know better...

It will not be easy... will not be easy for Fred to come to terms with his current condition.. But we know he is strong.. and we know GOD will heal him... and he will eventually recover fully.. yes, we believe... Fred, U r a good man... U will come back stronger...

A lot of abled body pple keep complaining abt life... come on... We are given a healthy body.. we are given a choice to live our life, live it.. and stop being such an @$#%^$%...

For a moment, think abt the less fortunate and think abt yourself.. .. treasure yourself, and treasure what you have... for everything could be taken from you the next time u realised abt it..
We can't rewind our life...

No bonus

Well.. the news is out.. no bonus for civil servant.. Think this is the 1st time since 2002 that we've missed out on the july bonus due to the economic downtown.. Well, I guess there's nothing to look forward to in July except for our 1st Wedding anniversary!! How time flies.. :)
