Smartphone KILLS

Going to put my thoughts into practice..

I think Smartphone is a communication killer..

I've never been hooked onto games on my smart phone 

but I'm kinda always checking out my Instagram and FB feed.

And while I do not allow Naomi to use the mobile phone and always advocate on the eyes spoiling if one is to use the phone, I've now decided to put in effort and try my best to keep myself away from the phone as long as Naomi or as a matter of fact, the family is around.

And truth be told, I'm actually quite pissed with heavy mobile phone users.. and the news is correct abt Singaporeans unknowingly becoming smartphones addict.. Oh yes its true. Face it.

Back from camp!

Back from a 4D3N church camp at Lotus resort, Desaru!
Spiritually it has been a very recharging kinda trip.. a trip where one learns more abt himself and one's relationship with GOD and as a matter of fact, with everyone else. The schedule for the trip was wonderfully planned and packed with activities.. ha.. But would love to have more R&R on a daily basis to explore the resort. :)
BUT the 5 hrs R&R on the last 2nd day does made up for it. :)
This is Naomi's 2nd overseas trip and I'm glad that she totally enjoyed and din really create any unnecessary problem for all of us. Great to see her bonding with our church mates.

Incident 1
and so I was browsing thru the net when I read that a local cyclist(in the FB forum that I've joined) had passed on in Legoland yesterday morning. Apparently, he was on holiday with his family and he decided to go for a morning ride where he got involved in an accident with a bus and died instantly. Cruel day for the family especially when it was Father's day.

Incident 2
My colleague shared with me that his Dad just learnt that he gotten cancer after going thru a series a scan.
It came as a surprise to his family as his Dad have been generally healthy.

Incident 3
Another colleague whom I rarely speaks to also gotten cancer. Cancer of the nose, I think.


And I was chatting with my frd & we agreed that life is just so so fragile.. we humans are just.. weak.
We could be super thrifty and leading a healthy lifestyle.. but who knows.. Life threatening diseases could just visit you anytime and leave you spending your hard earned savings for treatment which doesn't cure.

So, i think its really important to be happy.. And of coz, one shld still have a healthy saving habit but at the same time, if you feel like doing something, then just go ahead and do it... we only live once.. and we shld live without regrets.

We remembered that the food here used to be pretty delicious however the tastes seems to have changed completely and its rather bland now.. and its quite sad to see the sorry state of the stall now.

But this fried chicken with shrimp paste is pretty good, i gotta say

And we drop by Wonderland to try out their cakes since we've always wanna try out this cafe..

Decor was nice with soothing music

quiet day which was rather surprising..

The Raspberry devil cake which was normal.. nothing to shout abt.. but the ice chocolate was good.. semi sweet with a scoop of vanilla ice cream! 

Father's day dinner with parents & bro!

Gokul vegetarian Joint which we've decided to try out.. This is the original shop and i've heard pretty good review abt their food!

Tahu Goreng which was sadly not warm at all but the peanut sauce was a killer!

Fried Cauliflower which was actually quite tasty but a bit on the spicy side.

Butter chicken Masala.. This is good.. nice thick and not so sweet sauce with very chewable 'chicken'.

Mutton which was very forgettable!

Some huge starters which was also quite forgettable..
Verdict : While the food was decent and had some Hits and Misses, I thought the service totally sucks.. Service was slower than slow.. our food was already prepared and placed at the food counter and it took the waiter 10mins to bring our food to us... It was that bad to the extent that my bro went to the counter and brought the food to our table himself.

Nice deco but i find the place a bit warm tho..

Our fishy dish that was recommended off the menu.. It was fresh and very light on the mouth!

Pulled pork with waffle fries! This is a good old side dish for sharing!

Banoffee which i thought was real sugar overdose.. or sweetness overdose!

H.A.P.P.Y Roadtrip!

Our road trip finally materialized after talking abt it for perhaps years? This crazy bunch of frds that i've had since NS times are fun! Yes, some of them are perhaps somehow not considered normal like us but what the heck, they are genuinely very nice frds that I've had.. nicer than some straight !$%@ that I've knew! Even tho this is only a one day trip, we had hell lotsa fun.. looking forward to future trips with them! Penang next, maybe.

Work Work Work

Recently finding it real hard to time manage my workload cos things are stacking up real fast!

Priority Priority Priority.. Gotta make it work!

I think this is the busiest period that I've faced since i've joined the organisation but as busy as it gets, I'm getting real satisfaction picking and learning new stuff along the way.. 

and perhaps this is how work is supposed to be.

Oh.. and today i've learnt that no matter how high a position that you could hold in a office, you are nothing if you don't know any basic courtesy.. Yes, I was talking to a colleague abt some work stuff and this fellow just ignored my presence and shout out to my colleague to join him for some leisure activities NOW.. 

Thats crazy, you went thru the highest of education, hold some high appointment and you don't know basic courtesy?? Oh ya, forgotten that courtesy is not taught in sch... and this same fellow that I knew for so many yrs and was on talking term kinda changed into another person and behaved like he dunno me when we walked passed each other in the corridor.. crazy.. Its rude not to smile or at least give a smile in acknowledgement when people say hi to you, you know? And you have kids, so be good example ya.

finally?

Less than 5 days before the deadline, I've decided to register my attendance for the NUS Commencement 2014..
Never been a social butterfly and don't really wanna attend a wayang party.. but finally decided to do so after so many people tells me to just take it as milestone to mark the end of my 3.5 yrs of Btech studies..

PaPa's so bz nowadays!

Yeah.. new posting keeping me very very bz at work.. As bz as it could get, I'm still feeling very +ve and trying to learn as much as possible.. steep learning curve for me.. +ve energy to dispel any -ve energy ard me..
and its a bonus to go home and see my little naughty Naomi cheering me up with expressions like this!

Lamington was arite.. loved the chocolate tart & esp the cake at the lower rite side of the plate.. forgotten the name tho.. haha.. and the signature apple cake was way too creamy..
