PaPa-Daughter Bonding Sat :)

Naomi love this swing although i thought its more meant for kids younger her age.. haha.. guess its the sense of security lah.
And if I am correct, this series of swing is meant for people with certain disabilities.
This Playground at AMK-Bishan park is pretty cool.. Huge with lotsa variety of play and most importantly not overly crowded even on a Sat.
Sandplay.. nobody. Gd!
Wefie with my cheeky gal!
Green & Clean
Will chill here with Wife and Naomi one fine day!

A joy to have Naomi sleeping in with us even thou I'll have to carry her to my in law room after she KO.
Naomi, you can sleep with us thru the nite when didi sleeping pattern is more established ok else both of you will be taking turns waking each other up throughout the night.

Ride + Train

The convenience of a good foldie where I could ride all the way from Yishun to Holland Village and then take a train back home. Super useful for me especially when I have parenting roles to perform. :)

Children day with Naomi

Finally we had our very 1st jump session at the trampoline park at Orto, Yishun. Booked a 1 hr session and Naomi had so much fun even thou her height prohibited her from playing at some of the stations. This is one of the very few photos where my S5 was able to focus and capture Naomi without any motion blur.. Ha.. Shld have brought my DSLR instead.

And now trampoline park is checked from my "To-do dun list with Naomi". Off to more adventures soon, I hope. :)
Oh.. and a personal thought on the trampoline park called Kataput, I think its a pretty cool place for young kids in the sense that (1) the place is spacious, (2) Adults get to jump free with little kiddos (3) Friendly staff makes sure that the environment is very safe for all kids and (4) near my place! haha

And the 2nd half of the day was spent at Expo Baby Fair where we finally gotten a Joovy Caboose Tandem Ultralight stroller. My requirement when looking for a stroller is rather straight forward. It gotta be lightweight, easy to fold and most important comfortable for both child to sit back and Zzz when required. Look ard for a couple of month and this model pretty much meets our requirement. And I guess this will be specially useful after Mar 16 when my Car goes up the lorry. :(

Plain Vanilla @ Ion

Finally had the chance to try out the offerings at Plain Vanilla. Visited the Tiong Bahru branch once but it was full hse.. Visted the other branch @ Ion last week and it was full hse as well. Tried our luck today and finally we managed to get a seat and try their pastries. We choose the Salted Caramel Truffle Tarts and the Raspberry Lemon Teacake.
I think this cafe serves one of the best desserts in Singapore. The chocolate used for the tart wasn't too overly sweet and the salted caramel oozed out when you cut into it. The 'sourness' of the lemon icing for the Teacake matches pretty well with the Raspberry taste too.
Will definitely be back to try out some other selection.

Random photos taken by Naomi from my DSLR - the very few pics where I'm not beheaded... :p

Ha.. Pls pardon the less than tidy background. :)

Thank you Naomi! This photo is pretty decent. PaPa love it!

My 2 little Sunshine

Blessed that Naomi is playing her jiejie role very well. Always so eager to sayang didi and the 1st one to report to me abt didi when I reached home every evening.
Naomi, PaPa love you very much even though PaPa may not be able to accompany as much as before.

The didi that seems to have a pretty less than ideal temper.. haha.. Hopefully its just a phase thing..
Nathaniel, be strong, healthy and sleep thru the night ok. :p

Blessed that outta blue, Naomi & I ended up at some lantern festival event near my in law place. Even thou we did not have any coupons to exchange for some old sch lantern, the organizer was very kind to give Naomi a lantern set. Fixed it up and Naomi was super eager to follow the whole gang of Yishun residents with a walkathon around the neighborhood. There was a dragon dance thingy going on and in fact, everybody was just following the tail of the dragon as we made our stroll, prob a 200 meter walk with our lanterns. 1st time having this lantern walk with Naomi and I gotta say, it really feels good and this is also a good reminder that I gotta treasure the time that I've got with Naomi cos she's really growing up too fast.
Naomi, PaPa loves you very much.

God Bless

GOD bless that Dad is already back home and seems to be on the road to recovery. Hope that he is able to completely recover and that he experiences no more falls.

爷爷, Pls get well soon. We want you to play with us.

...

And just when we thought that Dad can be discharged last weekend, things take an abrupt turn for the worst on sat... We were told by the nurses that Dad suddenly removed his drip and tried to run out of the ward and it took 6-7 nurses to hold and carry my dad back to his bed. He then shut himself by refusing to eat, look or respond to the nurses.. This was very sudden and definitely unexpected as I was still having good conversations with him the day before and he was looking real good and healthy then. Yet now, he is even refusing to talk to us.. He would use all his strength to shut his eyes and Doc got no choice but to put him on drip(glucose) as he is refusing to take any food.
Brain CT & MRI was done and results did not show anything abnormal so even the Doc doesn't know what to do.. I visited Dad yest and surprisingly he appeared to be back to normal and we could chat well and he even asked me to inform my mum & bro that he is well.. But today the Doc informed me that Dad is in shutdown mode again and this was verified by my bro when he visited in the evening..
In a total loss now... ...

Getting better, i hope.

Great news from the Doc that my dad can be discharged most prob this weekend. So after all the checks and scans, they diagnose that my dad is suffering from Gallstone Bladder and bacteria in the blood. Pneumonia wise, there is still slight trace of it but they are using the same antibiotics treatment to remedy it. So far, the readings from my Dad's blood test shows +ve sign of improvement but ultimately a keyhole surgery is still required to remove the gallstone in abt 2 months time. Visited Dad today and he was extremely chatty and alert compared to the past few days. Very happy to see him like this. He even said that he wanna look for a part time work as a form of exercise when he recovered. :) Super glad to hear this from him considering that the only thing he used to do back home was Zzzz.. Anyway priority is for him to recover and lead a more healthy and active lifestyle.

why?

Its been a bad 2015 for my loved ones... Mum's having stage 3 cancer and now Dad is suddenly fighting a pneumonia battle in CGH... Happened too sudden till I dunno how to react.. Dad was still pretty active last weekend and we only heard him complaining of gastric pain few days back and today he is in A&E after mum found him lying on the bedroom floor. CT scan ongoing now but Doc is already suspecting that there's already damage to his lungs, kidney, liver and gastric area.
Things are not looking good.

Clean bill of health for Nathaniel!

Praise the Lord!
Nathaniel did a ECG and 2D echo scan and everything is good. No more mur mur..
Things that are supposed to close up are all closed up.
:) All glory to the GOD!

I love my children.
GOD, pls protect my children and keep them away from any health virus or bugs. When Naomi was born, there were worries of "hole in the heart" and yesterday she had a blood test done to check on her blood count as we were concerned abt her more than average size tummy. Thank GOD that blood test as normal and hopefully there's really nothing wrong with her tummy.

And with Nathaniel, there's also murmur heard when he is born and a 2D echo test revealed that he have a valves to the heart that is not closed yet. Usually, the valves will close up after birth. Nathaniel will go thru another echo test on the 11th Aug but I pray and hope that the valves would have closed by then. Can't imagine little Nathaniel having to go thru surgery at this young age. :(

Be healthy and strong, my little ones..

and the treatment begins...

And today marks the 1st Chemotherapy session for my mum..
Its going to be an every wed routine for 3 weeks follow by a week of rest. repeat follow by CT scan and a visit to Doc to review whether the therapy helps. This is most prob gonna be a long long process till..
For now, I just hope that my mum doesn't get too much side effect from the treatment esp when I doubt my Dad can take good care of my mum. I wish my Dad can be more proactive and supportive towards my mum during this period of time..
My dad is a good man but one needs to know the role of a husband especially when your partner is battling a life threatening illness.

Truth hurts

And we were informed that my mum is at least at the 3rd stage of cancer... Mum was told by the doc that treatment will not be able to cure her.. treatment merely delay the cancer from growing/spreading... I can see that mum was shocked and her eyes were watery.. I asked the Doc in English what is the estimated life span of mum knowing that it is at least stage 3 now and was told abt a year... I'm not sure whether my mum understands and I really dunno how to break the news to her.. I know that she is feeling very negative now.. everything happened so quickly.. From a strong woman to now, my mum gotta hold on to me when she walks... I'm not feeling any optimistic either but I gotta be positive to motivate my mum...
Further bad news that Mum had a fall at home yesterday. I know I can't really depend on my dad to really look after my mum.. Gotta look for alternative source of help to make sure that my mum is well taken care of esp during her course of treatment..
Tues gonna meet the oncologist for the CT scan review and I'm praying that the cancer have not spread to other critical organs.

dark days

Everyone will go thru a period of time where their love ones will get hit by certain illness.. its only a matter of when..
And unfortunately it is now my time to experience my beloved mum being hit by the silent killer, cancer.
Pancreatic Cancer to be specific.
For those who know me well enough, you will know that I am very close to my mum. The news from the doc really hit me hard when they were doing the scope to examine the growth. I kept thinking why is this happening to my mum.. my mum is such a good person so why her? I felt really helpless and was actually fighting back tears when I see my mum looking so weak in the ward after her scope. But I gotta be strong and be the pillar with positive energy to support my mum. My mum was only told of her condition after the lab result which was last week and she went all quiet after that. As strong as she tried to portray a positive image, I knew that she is very sad inside out. Pains me to see her this way.
We are going to see the oncologist on Tues and probably get an update on her status and follow up treatments. For now, I pray that my mum is not in the advanced stage of cancer and really hope that the chemo treatment can cure her.
Mum, we will be fighting the battle with you all the way. Just don't give up.

20 mins a day!

1st Jun & I am trying to cultivate a daily habit of spending 20mins of my personal time at night to do some online study/research. So day 1 done!
And so I've said goodbye to my Sat Morning usual cycling routine :( and instead, I've decided to use sat morning to bond with my gal. Experience is totally different.. Not much sweat or calories burnt but the quality time spent with Naomi is priceless... Nowadays I'm just looking forward to spending every sat morning with Naomi and have lotsa outdoor fun.. dun wan Naomi to be a shopping mall kids.

P.S : Meanwhile I am still trying to figure a weekly slot, probably nite time(i guess? ..) to do some hardcore cycling. :)

Novena

We are pretty blessed that Naomi is not the type of child that would pester or whine her way to get us to buy something for her.. In fact, I can't really recall the last time where she wanted us to get her anything! So today's a pretty rare day where we actually initiated to get her a soft toy.. oh.. and its not the one pictured above...

Going thru the whole experience and some hands on to getting her 1st 'pet'..

Listening to the instruction..

Giving her pony a good 'wash' & scrub!

Super shy in the store but once she is outside.... hmm...

And here is Naomi's pony called Novena??? real weird & random name given by Naomi... haha

Maiden trip to Penang

My 1st time to Penang and beautiful clouds formation to accompany me for this short flight.
God bless that we had a safe flight. :)

Rented a Van which brought us to this famous building where the local Nonya drama was filmed.. and I gotta say the place looks rather eerie.. So much so that I've decided to del off most of the photos which I took of the interior.

Part of my Kakis who made this trip real fun and memorable!

Love this shot of Meiling!

Morning walk just opp our hotel before the ladies start their SHOPPING!

Team Bravo 3/4 while the remaining 1/4 is bz hosting his guests.

And this is one scary wedding where people drink like sup sup water!

Spot the drunkards! Minus those that already KOed.. haha
