Cell Grp Picnic @ Botanical Gardens

Managed to find quite a huge shaded area beside Swan lake to setup our pinic thingy.. Thanks for the wife for helping with the sandwiches & stuff! Total strength today was 9 + 2 kids.. Not the best of attendance considering that its a combined event but well, still very much appreciate those who made the effort to join in the fun and also those who bothered to update abt their availability. :)

And these 2 girls were having so much fun with the bubbles, feeding of fishes and running ard the picnic area!

Saved S$500!

Almost spent S$550 for a 'proper' Brompton child seat.. Count my blessings that my colleague last min decided not to sell his to me and also heng heng that my buddy wasn't able to find one in UK. So I finally decided to get one S$48 child seat from a traditional bicycle shop in Bedok Market.. haha.. Not the most glam looking one but it sure looks comfy for Naomi.. Safety wise, seems alright but we'll bring it for a slow ride tmr to test it out. :)

Solo ride to fort road & back

Sometimes solo ride can be good.. in the sense that i just stick to my own pace and i can just stop off wherever i wan to snap a pic or two..

Road safety park in quite a sorry state nowadays.. Still rem coming here during my pri sch days.. always aiming to get the pedal assist cars and zooming ard the park to get our stamps at individual stations... 

I remembered there was a shell station back then... but definitely no V-power then.. haha

while we tried and tried for a 2nd child but still no good news, I'm still feeling very blessed that GOD gave us a healthy little Naomi as our lovely daughter.. especially after watching some channel U program where there's this story abt a family having 4 kids and all of them were born with some form of spastic issues..
To have a 2nd child or not, I believe GOD has his plans.

And so yesterday sermon gave me a reminder of how many of us live a christian life in every aspect of our lives.. Sure we live and project a christian life on Sunday especially in the church but how many of us could really bring Christianity home with us.. living and breathing the Christianity life... It was a great reminder for me and also great challenge for me when I lasted this challenge for less than a day.. I can't help and I was already cursing other drivers when I was behind the wheels last evening..
hmm.. Time to really take stock and make some +ve changes to my life..

Naomi loves books.. In fact its like a nightly ritual thing for me to read some books to her before she agree to zzz.. Hopefully she can keep this habit going on..

In the environment that we're living in, is it correct to say that the amt of respect that one commands is proportional to the amt of $ one earns? Sad world if this is true.

Just a random thought... Naomi is so good at expressing herself such that I really gotta seriously consider her feelings whenever I do something..

Example 1:

Months before we flew off to Seoul, I ask Naomi whether she wants to go with us and that I'll buy a air tix for her if she wants to tag along but she keep insisting that she doesn't wanna go.. and just before we flew off, she told me this... "Papa, I will be sad if you go to Korea.. Papa, can you ask me again if I wan to go Korea?"...

Example 2:

I went for a night cycle on Sat night when Naomi was washing up and while I was cycling, I rec a text from my in law saying that that Naomi said " I am very sad because PaPa is not home to sleep yet."... Goosh.. Kinda sad to see/hear that so I guess for my solo rides in future, I'll accompany and wait for my little gal to Zzz off first before I start my nite cycling adventure.

Example 3:
Its been more than one occasions when Naomi said " PaPa, you long time didn't come to fetch me from my sch".... argh.. I wished I really could have more opp to fetch Naomi from school but my work schedule just couldn't helped it.. Perhaps I should randomly take half days to surprise and fetch her..

Thoughts after tonight ride.
The thing abt riding a Brompton compared to my super fast MV is that speed is the last thing on your mind.. I never had the mindset to cheong or pedal for any personal best timing when i'm on the brompton and in fact, i slowed down a lot and i realized this is part where i really enjoy cycling.. Going real slow and just exploring the PCNs and places that I've never been before. I'm on a 2spd brompton and for tonite's ride, i'm actually using only the lightest gear and you can already imagine how relax the ride is.. Of coz, the smoothness of riding a brompton does plays a part too. :)

PaPa- Daughter Bonding Morning!

Left our place at 8am in the morning where we scooted to KTP pond for a little fish feeding session! And Naomi was like taking one mouth of the bread and feeding the fishes with the remaining bread!

2nd stop also just by KTP where there are at least 100s of orange color fishes waiting to be fed! Ended the wonderful morning by scooting to the library to return Naomi's books. And now to rest before meeting up with Wifey in the afternoon!
