We are so blessed to have 光华 as our church 主席.
Again, 光华主席 impressed and convinced me(and I believe many others)
why all these years, he's the only one with
the wisdom and composure to be the church's 主席.
Today we had our AGM and there's this situation where a senior church member starts to recommend & suggest certain changes to certain church ruling.
Our 主席 being wise, is open to the suggestion and propose to follow up on this with a proper meeting/discussion with the rest of the 委员 and also
check with Pastor Zhang on his opinion.
However the senior church member refuses to accept this and again propose that there should be a vote NOW for all the church members so that the proposed change can be implemented straight away.
Again, our 主席 politely says that he is not against the proposed change but he will 1st arrange a proper meeting to follow up on this.
And AGAIN, the senior church member refuses to accept this.
Again and again, Ding Dong going on with the senior Church member
insisting why can't vote now...
Throughout this period, I've been controlling my temper.
The senior Church member then actually STANDS UP and begin to encourage people to put their hands up to vote if they agree to the proposed change!
At this point, I told my wifey that I can't stand this anymore and that I'm gonna stand up and ask the senior church member to respect the 主席, respect the people in the church and respect the law that governs the church.
BUT wifey told me to chill and cool down...
I mean, you wish to propose a change.
Your proposal is not ignored nor rejected.
The proposed change is not something minor.
Our 主席 feels that its not something where we can just vote and make the change.
Its not a 5 mins thing.
The only wise thing is to check with Pastor Zhang and hold a proper meeting to discuss it.
Isn't it?
When there are things that we are unsure of and it affects the church,
Shouldn't we spend more time and thought to go over it?
I'm so glad that our 主席 maintains his stand.
