Took part in NTU 138km Bike Rally yesterday and this was the toughest race by far.. I gotta admit that perhaps age is slowly catching up cos last year i find the race pretty alrite but this time round, I feel super burn out ard the 100km mark.. But then again, it could be the killer slopes that kinda hit our morale hard especially when the 1st slope that we encountered is the NTU slopes! and imagine more slopes after that... argh!!!
Our initial plan was to cruise at ard 20km/hr but once we are on the roads with the road bikes ard us, we easily hit 35km/h.. It was actually quite shiok riding at this speed in this pack.. and relatively safe too.. For this year's rally, we also made it a point to spend 5mins or less at each rest point so that the momentum to ride is still there.. And i think this strategy is good in the sense that we dun allow our body to go into sleep mode and we could pick up where we left off pretty easily.. Eventually we completed the race at 3pm compared to last year 4+ to 5pm which i personally thought is pretty decent timing.. ok..
Time to rest my legs.. no riding at least for the next 2 days. :)
