Cell Grp - The Relationship Principles of Jesus

We started doing personal reading of this Christian Book called "The relationship Principles of Jesus" by Tom Holladay and each week during our cell grp, we will share on what we have read and learnt from each chapter..

This book is basically on the topic of the importance of relationships and how to improve and transform relationships. Oh.. and by relationships, we are not talking abt husband/wives only.. we are also referring to relationship with frds, family, colleagues.. etc..

Sharing some quotes or phrases from the book(in blue) which i personally find very meaningful at least to me.

How do we bridge the relationship gap - the gap between what we hope for and desire and what we actually experience. I believe this sentence is so true in every aspect of our lives. We form, build and nurture relationship everyday in our lives. We love and have a desire to maintain each relationship to a certain level but many a times, not everything goes our way and there are times when some relationship simply goes south.. The question we often asked is that how do we simply repair or bridge those relationship gap.

Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. (John 13:34) I believe what we are lacking when relationship fails or goes into -ve mode is due to the lack of love.

Relationships are painful. Relationships are wonderful. We all live in the drama that plays out between these truths. Isn't this so true.. A life with relationships is really just one big mega drama. Just think abt it. Big drama isn't it.

Immediate response was simple faith....God had a plan even in this dire circumstance.
As much as we go for Sunday service every Sun, how often can we say that our immediate response to whatever that hits us is simple faith... and as bad as a situation can hit you, how often can we remind ourselves that God had a plan for us even in the worst of circumstance... It really all goes down to faith.

Relationships are filled with both wonder and pain... Nothing is more important than relationships! A life without relationships may well be a simpler life, but it is also an empty life... Place the highest value on relationships.. Its really true.. there are always low moments in life(its not gonna stop) where i just feel that isn't life much simpler and happier without relationships.. but this sentence does gives a good reminder that a life without relationships is actually just an empty life..
